Condition monitoring systems
The condition-based maintenance and repair concept for electrical equipment involves the implementation of the Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic System (CMDS). This approach can also be applied to equipment installed at remote substations.
The CMDS for a power transformer is designed for continuous measurement, recording, processing, and display of key diagnostic parameters. Based on the analysis of the measured and calculated data, the transformer’s technical condition is assessed and its remaining service life is estimated.
The ES Transmon system is based on synchronized phasor measurement technology. Using phasor measurements, the CMDS calculates the parameters of the transformer equivalent circuit and analyzes changes in these parameters over time to identify potential defects and malfunctions.
